Job summary

Scan Design of Florida in Tampa seeks a Design Consultant who blends interior design expertise with consultative sales. This high-performance role places you as a brand ambassador, guiding clients from concept to white-glove delivery while building lasting relationships.

You will develop floor plans, curate styling with accessories and lighting, and manage projects end-to-end. The position requires weekend availability and holiday events during showroom hours, with a draw-against-commission pay

Qualifications

• Proven track record in high-end, relationship-based sales.
• Ability to visualize and communicate sophisticated interior layouts.
• Experience in interior design, home staging, or luxury retail.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Familiarity with design tools (Floor Planner, AutoCAD).

Responsibilities

• Sales Consultation: Engage with clients in-store and in-home to identify their lifestyle needs, aesthetic preferences, and budget requirements.
• Space Planning: Develop comprehensive floor plans and layouts that demonstrate how Scan Design pieces transform a client's specific environment.
• Curated Styling: Expertly select accessories, finishes, lighting, and rugs to create a cohesive, elevated interior.
• End-to-End Project Management: Oversee the client journey from the initial introduction through the procurement process to the final white-glove installation.
• Showroom Excellence: Assist in visual merchandising to ensure our showroom remains a premier destination for design inspiration.

We are looking for a Design Consultant for our Tampa location who is as motivated by sales targets as they are a beautiful floor plan.

This is a high performance sales role. You will act as a brand ambassador and a creative visionary. You will act as the vital link between our global collection and the client’s dream space, utilizing a sophisticated blend of interior design expertise and consultative sales techniques to manage projects from initial concept to final white-glove delivery.

Schedule & Availability

The most successful consultants know that peak earning happens when the clients are shopping. To be considered, candidates must be available for:

Requirements

Professional Qualifications

• Consultative Sales Excellence: A proven track record in high-end, relationship based sales (luxury retail, interior design, or real estate) with an emphasis on building long-term client rapport.
• Performance-Driven Autonomy: A self-motivated professional who thrives on achieving sales targets and views peak selling hours (including weekends) as their primary opportunity for financial rewards.
• Spatial Vision: Demonstrated ability to visualize, conceptualize, and communicate sophisticated interior layouts and multi-functional space solutions.
• Industry Expertise: Prior experience in Interior Design, Home Staging, or Luxury Retail is highly preferred.
• Tech-Forward Design: Professional familiarity design tools (Floor Planner, AutoCAD, etc) to produce accurate and compelling visual proposals.
• Brand Ambassadorship: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the poise and professionalism required to represent a legacy brand like Scan Design.
