Job summary

Dickerson Transportation Group in Kosciusko, MS seeks a Sales Associate to operate cash registers, scanners, and related equipment while delivering superior customer service. Nights, weekends and holidays are required as part of a dynamic retail environment.

You will greet customers, maintain a clean store, and assist with product selection. Proficiency with POS and basic math is expected, along with the ability to handle returns and balance cash at shifts’ start and end. Training provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Customer service and sales with wine & spirits experience is preferred, but not required.
• Comprehend and perform basic mathematical skills.
• Understand and perform basic computer and point-of-sale skills.

Responsibilities

• Greets customers as they enter the location and meet company customer service standards.
• Maintains a clean and healthy work environment according to company standards.
• Adheres to all laws and regulations regarding the sale of any government regulated product or service.
• Offer product suggestions when appropriate.
• Operates the point-of-sale system and other available equipment, such as cash registers, calculators, or scanners.
• Accepts money in the form of cash, check, vouchers and credit or debit cards for items purchased; validates amounts and provides appropriate change following company cash control policies and procedures.
• Assists customers with questions or price discrepancies.
• Processes returns and exchanges according to store policy.
• Assists customers in locating various products, resolving complaints, or providing information.
• Bag, box, and wrap purchased items.
• Ensures accurate transactions by balancing cash register at the beginning and end of shift, and sales at the end of shift.
• Stocks and rotates products to ensure freshness and date control; restock and use supply items efficiently to eliminate waste and to maintain the lowest supply cost.
• Notifies management of team member theft, customer shoplifting, unauthorized markdowns, property defacement or any action that is illegal and/or against company policy.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
