JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: SALES ASSOCIATE/MATERIAL HANDLER

DEPARTMENT: RETAIL

STATUS: PART-TIME

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: STORE MANAGER

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Ability to operate POS/Cash Register
• Must pass background check, including Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry
• Effective communication skills with management, staff, customers, and donors

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist
• Ability to grasp, push, pull objects including carts, fixtures, furniture, and equipment
• Ability to operate a telephone
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to perform repetitive motions

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Greet customers and donors, providing courteous assistance
• Stock and prepare items for sale according to Salvation Army standards
• Sort donations and maintain store cleanliness and organization
• Perform cleaning duties in various store areas
• Maintain department standards and safety protocols
• Follow POS policies and procedures
• Attend monthly store meetings
• Adhere to dress code policies
• Ensure adequate store coverage, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Receive, unload, and stock inventory accurately
• Inspect products for defects
• Assist donors with donations and provide receipts
• Perform other duties as assigned by management

Schedule

Our stores operate 7 days a week. Schedules are flexible to ensure proper coverage, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

Education: High School diploma or equivalent

Experience: Retail experience preferred
