Job Description

The Keyholder is responsible for opening and closing the store and ensuring proper store procedures and policies are followed when store management is not on duty.

What would you do? – The Specifics

1. Greet customers in a friendly manner and ensure high quality customer service.
2. Meet National Vision’s sales objectives.
3. Maintain awareness of same day service using “Ready When Promised” production board.
4. Ensure customers receive quality products in a timely manner.
5. Assist with answering phones efficiently in accordance with National Vision telephone protocol.
6. Ensure all customer service complaints are handled effectively and efficiently.
7. Review reasons for redos and implement practices to correct. Ensure quality standards are met.
8. Check on status and notify customers when orders are in or of any delays.
9. Ensure all intra-web functions are done daily including cancelled job status, backorder list and problem jobs.
10. Assist with dispensing eyeglasses and contact lenses to customers, if permitted by state law.
11. Perform insertion and removal training of contact lenses as directed by management and permitted by state law.
12. Ensure store cleanliness policies are adhered to at all times.
13. Complete inventory count and replenish stock as necessary.
14. Ensure all visual merchandising is implemented and maintained.
15. Ensure that the eyeglass department is kept clean and organized at all times.
16. Ensure that inventory control and loss prevention procedures are followed at all times.
17. Oversees the sales floor and timely opens and closes the store following proper procedures.
18. Ensures bank deposits and cash handling transactions are in compliance with National Vision procedures and policies.
19. Leads associates so that they complete tasks in a time-efficient manner.
20. Acts as point of contact to address customer service issues, maintenance and vendor problems.
21. Ensures compliance to all store and corporate policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Previous retail experience preferred, but not required.
• Effective interpersonal skills.
• Ability to present and sell eyeglass features and specialty lenses.
• Must possess strong customer service skills.
• Ability to learn optical knowledge.
• Must be able to work and interact effectively within a store environment, adhering to and promoting all store policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time that may average 6-8 hours.
• Possess leadership qualities.
• Strong communication skills for effective leadership of teams.
