The Keyholder is responsible for opening and closing the store and ensuring proper store procedures and policies are followed when store management is not on duty.

Job Description – The Responsibilities:

  1. Greet customers in a friendly manner and ensure high-quality customer service.
  2. Meet National Vision’s sales objectives.
  3. Maintain awareness of same-day service using the “Ready When Promised” production board.
  4. Ensure customers receive quality products in a timely manner.
  5. Assist with answering phones efficiently following National Vision telephone protocol.
  6. Handle customer service complaints effectively and efficiently.
  7. Review reasons for redos and implement practices to correct; ensure quality standards are met.
  8. Check on order status and notify customers of arrivals or delays.
  9. Ensure all intra-web functions are performed daily, including canceled job status, backorder list, and problem jobs.
  10. Assist with dispensing eyeglasses and contact lenses, if permitted by state law.
  11. Perform insertion and removal training of contact lenses as directed by management and permitted by law.
  12. Maintain store cleanliness policies at all times.
  13. Complete inventory counts and replenish stock as necessary.
  14. Implement and maintain visual merchandising standards.
  15. Keep the eyeglass department clean and organized.
  16. Follow inventory control and loss prevention procedures.
  17. Oversee the sales floor and ensure timely opening and closing of the store following proper procedures.
  18. Ensure bank deposits and cash handling are compliant with company policies.
  19. Lead associates to complete tasks efficiently.
  20. Act as a point of contact for customer service issues, maintenance, and vendor problems.
  21. Ensure compliance with all store and corporate policies and procedures.

Qualifications – The Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous retail experience preferred but not required.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to present and sell eyeglass features and specialty lenses.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to learn optical knowledge.
  • Ability to work effectively within a store environment, adhering to all policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Ability to stand for 6-8 hours.
  • Leadership qualities.
  • Strong communication skills for team leadership.
