Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a team-oriented Retail Sales Associate to help customers, stock shelves, and maintain planograms in our Mansfield, OH store. You will operate the register, assist shoppers, and keep merchandised displays neat and inviting.

You'll work with a friendly team to deliver quick, accurate service, uphold safety and cash-handling policies, and participate in merchandising tasks. Prior high school diploma preferred; training provided to learn store processes and customer service

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-grams and merchandising guidance.
• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to operate IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and stock merchandise.
• Receive, open, unpack, and store merchandise; stock floor as needed.
• Build and rotate displays; restock recovered merchandise.
• Assist customers in locating merchandise and answering questions.
• Greet customers and operate cash register to complete purchases; collect payment and provide change.
• Maintain store cleanliness and safety; follow company policies.

Job Details General Summary:

Act as the point of contact for customers. Assist in setting and maintaining plan-o-ograms and programs. Stock merchandise adequately. Perform other duties as necessary to maximize profitability, customer satisfaction, and teamwork, while protecting company assets.

Duties And Essential Job Functions

• Unload trucks.
• Follow company work processes to receive, open and unpack cartons and totes; store merchandise in stock room or move directly to sales floor.
• Build merchandise displays.
• Stock merchandise; rotate and face merchandise on shelves.
• Restock recovered merchandise.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise.
• Bail cardboard and take out trash; dust and mop store floors; clean restroom and stockroom.
• Comply with company policies and procedures.
• Greet customers.
• Operate cash register and flatbed scanner to itemize and total customer's purchase; bag merchandise.
• Collect payment from customer and make change.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using hand-held scanners, as needed.
• Clean front end of store and help set up sidewalk displays when necessary.
