Responsibilities

As a Sales Associate, you will play an integral role in the store’s overall success and efficiency, upholding Coach’s Service and Selling Models, creating a positive first impression, and building ongoing customer relationships through a personalized experience.

Sales Floor
  • Understand organizational objectives and make decisions that align with company priorities.
  • Take ownership and commit to delivering results, while remaining actively aware of personal and store metrics; create personal sales and clienteling strategies with management.
  • Create short‑ and long‑term strategies to achieve personal metrics and performance goals.
  • Own personal survey results and devise plans to improve and overcome areas of opportunity.
  • Represent Coach as a brand ambassador.
  • Demonstrate Coach’s Selling and Service expectations at all times.
  • Stay aware of changes in the local market with potential impact on performance and support execution of local sales strategies and tactics.
  • Drive business through sales strategies, clienteling, sourcing new customers, and maintaining productive relationships.
  • Create positive impressions with customers by presenting consistent, on‑brand attire.
  • Build credibility and trust as a personal fashion advisor by communicating fashion awareness and strong knowledge of competition.
  • Provide in‑depth product knowledge, including features, benefits, current offerings, and overall value.
  • Communicate current pricing and promotional strategy to customers.
  • Use cross‑selling skills to discuss product features and build the sale.
  • Cross‑sell and encourage beneficial product add‑ons that relate to the customer's shopping needs.
  • Be sensitive to customers’ needs and tailor approach by reading cues.
  • Attend to unique and individual shopping needs of each customer.
  • Work with multiple customers simultaneously and break away as appropriate.
  • Follow up with customers consistently and genuinely to influence/close the sale.
  • Flex personal selling techniques to contribute to overall store financial results.
  • Build lasting and loyal relationships with customers.
  • Leverage Coach’s tools and technology to support relationship building and clienteling efforts.
  • Create enthusiasm and positivity for a shared vision and mission.
  • Promote and endorse a team‑selling environment.
  • Foster an environment of teamwork, trust and collaboration with internal and external customers.
  • Remain solution‑oriented; be adaptable and flexible to changing business and store needs.

Operations
  • Ensure all daily tasks are completed without negatively impacting service or Coach standards.
  • Complete daily operational tasks, including maintaining the store (sales floor and back‑room), cash wrap, and visual merchandising to Coach standards consistently and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy selling floor at all times.
  • Adhere to all applicable retail policies and procedures, including POS, operations and asset protection procedures.
  • Replenish inventory on the sales floor as needed.
  • Support the store inventory process by processing shipments, stocking shelves, replenishing the sales floor, and maintaining strong organizational standards both in the stockroom and on the sales floor.
  • Support cash‑wrap when needed to process purchases, returns, and exchanges.
  • Efficiently process customer transactions: purchase, return, exchange, found order, etc.
  • Assist in preparing the store by organizing functional areas, performing routine cleaning, maintaining strong organizational standards, and maintaining visual merchandising expectations.
Additional Requirements
  • Experience: 1–3 years of previous sales experience, preferably in a luxury retail service environment; possess current knowledge of fashion trends and competition.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
  • Technical: Knowledge of cash register systems, basic computer skills (iPad/laptop, mobile POS, internet), ability to use walkie‑talkie, read price and product release sheets.
  • Physical: Ability to execute at a fast pace; communicate effectively; maneuver the sales floor, sales shelves, and stockroom; climb, bend, kneel; lift and carry up to 25 lbs and, at times, up to 50 lbs to process product shipment/transfers.
  • Schedule: Ability to meet Coach scheduling & availability expectations, including flexible hours, nights, weekends, holidays, and high traffic sales days.

Base pay range: $15.00 – $19.00 per hour.
