Minuteman Food Mart is seeking a friendly Sales Associate to join our team in a fast-paced retail environment. You will greet customers, assist with product location and inquiries, and process transactions at the register.

Responsibilities include stocking shelves, maintaining store cleanliness, monitoring inventory, and following cash handling procedures. A team-oriented attitude and flexibility for varied shifts are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have a people-first mentality and provide fast, friendly service.
• Excellent customer service skills and ability to interact professionally with diverse customers.
• Strong verbal communication and ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Basic math skills for transactions, discounts, and making change.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and experience with POS systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Assist customers in locating products and answering questions about merchandise, pricing, and promotions.
• Operate cash registers and POS systems to process transactions (cash, card, and digital payments).
• Maintain a clean and organized store environment with shelves and displays.
• Stock shelves and displays; ensure proper rotation and organization of products.
• Monitor inventory and inform supervisor when restocking is needed.
• Follow cash handling procedures and store discounts accurately.
• Keep knowledge of products, including new arrivals and promotions.
• Check expiration dates and remove expired/damaged items.
• Follow food safety handling procedures for perishable items.
• Collaborate with team to open/close store tasks and operations.
• Handle customer complaints professionally and escalate when needed.
• Adhere to company policies and safety/security guidelines.
• Assist with cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces.
