Job summary

7 Dees Garden Center in Seaside, OR is hiring a friendly cashier/sales associate who knows plants and enjoys helping customers choose the right ones. You’ll split time between checkout and assisting shoppers with plant selections, garden products, and basic care advice.

This seasonal role offers about 25–30 hours per week with a path to full-time, year-round work for the right person. Starting pay is $17.00–$18.00 per hour, with weekly pay, employee discounts, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 6+ months of retail sales or customer service experience.
• Solid working knowledge of common plants (annuals, perennials, trees, shrubs, houseplants).
• Weekend availability is required.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly during a shift.
• Pass pre-employment drug screening.
• Desire to grow a long-term career in the green industry.

Responsibilities

• Share plant care advice and suggest add-on products such as soil, fertilizer, and pots.
• Answer plant and gardening questions in person and over the phone.
• Build relationships with regular customers and help plan future projects.
• Process sales quickly and accurately using our POS system.
• Support coworkers and help close sales.
• Use and troubleshoot the POS system and inventory database.
• Set up customer deliveries and follow through on time.
• Do light plant care, including watering, deadheading, and basic grooming.
• Keep the store clean, organized, and looking its best.

7 Dees Garden Center in Seaside, OR is looking for someone who knows plants and likes helping people pick the right ones. This job is part cashier and part salesperson, and the sales side is where you’ll spend a lot of your day. Customers will come to you with questions about what will grow in their yard, why their tomatoes are struggling, or what shrub will fill a shady corner. Your plant knowledge is what helps them leave with the right plants and the confidence to grow them.

We want someone who sees a future in horticulture and wants to build a career with us. 7 Dees is a family-owned company with retail garden centers and a landscaping division, so there’s real room to learn, take on more, and move up. Required Qualifications

• Able to stay calm and focused when the store gets busy.
• Strong communication skills and a friendly attitude.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly during a shift.
• Able to walk, bend, stoop, and stand for a full shift.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.

Work Schedule and Environment

• Variable schedule of about 25-30 hours per week, based on seasonal needs.
• Store hours: 9am-5pm, 7 days a week.
• Saturday and Sunday availability is required.
• Must be able to work outside in all kinds of weather.
• This position is at our Seaside, OR garden center.
