Job description

We’re looking for part‑time Sales Associates to deliver outstanding customer service and drive sales. Candidates must be able to greet customers, provide product information, and handle cash register transactions.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers promptly; acknowledge customers immediately and manage multiple customers efficiently.
• Assess customer needs, provide product knowledge, answer questions, direct them to merchandise, and offer recommendations.
• Engage in suggestive selling and stay informed on product availability.
• Promote store events, promotions, and special activities to enhance the shopping experience and boost sales.
• Resolve customer concerns, use product knowledge to offer alternative solutions, and aim to turn returns into exchanges.
• Communicate needs to management regarding merchandise restocking, service requirements, and customer feedback.
• Collaborate with the team to achieve overall store and company objectives, supporting a positive work environment.

Qualifications

• At least 16 years old.
• Available to work a flexible schedule, including day, evening, weekends, overnight shifts and travel as needed.
• Comfortable with or willing to learn technology such as cash registers, hand‑held devices and mobile solutions.
• Good communication skills; able to engage with customers courteously and professionally.
• Basic information‑gathering and problem‑solving skills; able to learn procedural knowledge through on‑the‑job training.

Essential Job Functions

• Operate cash register frequently.
• Move merchandise weighing up to 25 lbs and place/remove items up to 5‑10 ft high.
• Ascend/descend ladders to retrieve and store stock.
• Stand upright or kneel, bend, twist and stoop frequently, especially in the stock room and on the sales floor.
• Communicate with customers via phone and face‑to‑face in store and with managers and coworkers.
• Read and follow email and print instructions for merchandise layouts, schedules and SOPs.
• Remain in a stationary upright position for about 80 % of working time.
