Job summary

Design Within Reach is seeking a Sales Assistant to support day-to-day store operations and assist clients in a design-forward retail environment. This entry-level role offers hands-on experience in sales support, customer service, inventory, and visual merchandising, with guidance from managers and team members.

You’ll gain exposure to product knowledge, design principles, and client interactions while contributing to a friendly, design-driven store culture. Weekend availability is required.

Qualifications

• Interest in design, retail, or customer service.
• Previous retail or customer-facing experience is a plus, but not required.
• Comfortable using Mac OS, Microsoft Office, Gmail, and navigating websites.
• Willingness to learn systems like Salesforce and design software (we’ll train you!).
• Able to lift up to 20 lbs and move items as needed.

• Support the team with order processing, delivery coordination, and client follow-up.
• Help maintain the store’s visual presentation and product displays.
• Assist with inventory of marketing materials, swatches, and office supplies.
• Learn about our products and design principles through training and team meetings.

Store Hours: Open daily, Sunday through Saturday (weekend and holiday availability required)

About the Role:

As a Sales Assistant, you’ll support the team and clients by helping with day-to-day operations in the store. You’ll gain hands-on experience in sales support, customer service, inventory, and visual merchandising. You’ll report to the Assistant Manager and work closely with our sales and visual teams.
