Job summary

Bergdorf Goodman, Inc. is seeking a Selling Assistant to support Personal Shoppers and ensure a premium client experience in a luxury retail setting on Fifth Avenue.

You will assist with appointments, process POS transactions, track postsales, organize calendars, and help maintain client data and social media presence as directed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma / equivalency required.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Passion for luxury retail and client service.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Personal Shopper in preparing for and executing selling appointments.
• Ring transactions accurately at the Point of Sale (POS).
• Complete post-appointment follow-up tasks including order tracking and alterations.
• Manage appointment scheduling and the Shopper’s calendar.
• Maintain precise client data in Connect and at POS.
• Support Digital selling activities and social media as directed.
• Assist with gifting initiatives for Top Clients with the PCR team.
• Return unsold merchandise to stock post-appointment.
• Ensure fitting rooms are clean and coordinate housekeeping as needed.

You Will Be

The Selling Assistant provides essential support to the Personal Shopper, ensuring smooth operations for sales appointments and maintaining an organized, professional client environment. This role is crucial for executing all post-sales activities and managing client data.

What You Will Do

Sales & Client Support

• Assist the Personal Shopper in preparing for and executing selling appointments.
• Ring transactions accurately at the Point of Sale (POS).
• Complete all post-appointment follow-up tasks, including order tracking, managing alterations, and writing thank you notes.
• Help organize appointment scheduling and manage the Shopper’s calendar.
• Enter and maintain precise clientele information in Connect and at POS.
• Assist with Digital selling activities and maintaining a Social Media presence as directed.
• Support the organization of gifting initiatives and experiences for Top Clients in partnership with the PCR team.

Operational Duties

• Ensure all unsold merchandise is efficiently returned to stock post-appointment.
• Ensure the cleanliness of fitting rooms by coordinating with housekeeping and maintenance services when necessary.
• Perform any additional duties and responsibilities, including projects, tasks, and activities as required to support the Personal Shopper and team.

Salary And Other Benefits

The Hourly rate for this position is between $22.00-$24.00 per hour. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include market, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
