Tree Masters in San Rafael, CA seeks a Sales Arborist to be the primary contact for clients, evaluate tree care needs, and develop proposals. You will travel to inspect sites, educate customers, and close deals while coordinating with operations to ensure project success.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of arboriculture or related sales experience.
• Strong knowledge of tree species, pruning, tree health and risk assessment.
• Proven ability to generate and close sales opportunities.
• Valid California Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
• Proficiency with computers, CRM software, and estimating tools.

Responsibilities

• Meet with residential, commercial, HOA, and municipal clients to assess tree care needs.
• Perform property inspections and provide pruning, removal, health care, preservation, and risk mitigation recommendations.
• Prepare detailed proposals, estimates, and contracts.
• Educate customers on proper tree care practices and industry standards.
• Develop and maintain relationships with existing clients while generating new business opportunities.
• Coordinate with production crews to ensure clear communication of project requirements and expectations.
• Identify opportunities for additional tree care services and recurring maintenance programs.
• Maintain records of client interactions, bids, and sales activities.
• Attend networking events and represent Tree Masters in the community.
• Ensure recommendations align with safety standards and industry best practices.

Position Summary

The Sales Arborist serves as the primary point of contact for prospective and existing clients. This role combines arboricultural expertise with sales and relationship management responsibilities. The Sales Arborist evaluates tree care needs, prepares estimates and proposals, develops strong client relationships, and collaborates with operations teams to ensure successful project execution.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Meet with residential, commercial, HOA, and municipal clients to assess tree care needs.
• Perform property inspections and provide recommendations for pruning, removals, plant health care, tree preservation, and risk mitigation.
• Prepare detailed proposals, estimates, and contracts.
• Educate customers on proper tree care practices and industry standards.

• Conduct follow-up communications to secure approved work and maintain customer satisfaction.
• Coordinate with production crews to ensure clear communication of project requirements and customer expectations.
• Identify opportunities for additional tree care services and recurring maintenance programs.
• Maintain accurate records of client interactions, bids, and sales activities.
• Attend networking events and represent Tree Masters within the community.
• Ensure all recommendations align with industry best practices and safety standards.

Qualifications

Required

• Minimum 3 years of experience in arboriculture, tree care sales, landscaping sales, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of tree species, pruning practices, tree health, and risk assessment.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and customer service skills.
• Proven ability to generate and close sales opportunities.
• Valid California Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
• Proficiency with computers, CRM software, and estimating tools.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects.

Preferred

• ISA Certified Arborist credential.
• Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ).
• Experience with plant health care programs.
• Familiarity with Bay Area tree species and local regulations.
• Bachelor's degree in Arboriculture, Forestry, Horticulture, Environmental Science, or a related field.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to walk on uneven terrain and inspect trees and job sites.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
• Capability to perform site assessments involving standing, walking, and moderate physical activity.
