Job summary

Pulsar Measurement is seeking a driven Sales Application Engineer to meet annual sales goals and ensure customer satisfaction across the product portfolio. You will work with the Sales Team, Customer Service, and Engineering to develop technical and applications expertise, prepare quotations, and respond to inquiries.

  • Past technical sales experience in technical sales with strong communication and computer skills.

  • Knowledge of industrial and municipal instrumentation is a plus.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized, driven and proactive Sales Application Engineer to meet and/or exceed our annual sales goals and to ensure customer satisfaction, repeat business, lead generation of new business development and upselling/cross-selling opportunities across the product portfolio. The ideal candidate will bring proven experience of technical inside sales, lead generation, technical manufacturing & applications product support, with strong troubleshooting, problem solving, relationship & consultative sales skills. This role reports to the Customer Success & Technical Support Manager and will be part of a collaborative team, working with colleagues in various locations. The role also works closely with our Sales Team, Customer Service team, Independent Sales Reps, Operations Managers, Product Managers and Engineering, all in support of servicing our customers.

Responsibilities
  • Working cooperatively and constructively with Customer Service Team, Regional and Territory Sales Managers and Independent Sales Reps to meet annual sales goals and to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Developing and maintaining strong technical and applications expertise with all Pulsar products.
  • Maintaining expertise with Pulsar’s order entry and technical support systems, as well as accurate record keeping with internal tools like ERP/CRM systems.
  • Handling technical support calls and troubleshooting new and existing product installations after sale.
  • Preparing quotations and responding to technical inquiries in a timely manner in response to customer requests. Supporting our independent reps in these efforts also.
  • Able to read and comprehend engineering specifications and drawings and suggest the appropriate Pulsar products to quote and submit, including pointing out exceptions to the specification.
  • Assists service department with technical troubleshooting and product returns as required.
  • Providing feedback and assistance to the Product Management Team with respect to the development of sales and technical documentation.
  • Provides technical product application guidance to Internal Customers and Stakeholders, including collaborating with Training Coordinator to capture and document FAQs.
  • Participates in training seminars for customers and offsite engineering training sessions.
  • Works cooperatively and constructively with the Customer Service Team, Regional and Territory Sales Managers and Independent Sales Reps to meet annual sales goals and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Performs other duties or responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
  • A four (4) year technical degree and three (3) + years of related technical product support experience, gained through manufacturing, troubleshooting or design.
  • Past technical sales experience in technical sales with strong communication and computer skills.
  • Has a strong track record developing and maintaining positive relationships with service customers and sales partners.
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Has excellent problem solving, organizational and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of industrial and municipal instrumentation is a plus.
  • Conversant in using Microsoft Office as well as current MRP, ERP and CRM systems.
  • Demonstrates leadership qualities.
