Sales Engineer – Heat Transfer Equipment (Air Cooled Exchangers)

Salary: $100K–$140K

Position Summary:
Junior to intermediate Sales Engineer responsible for preparing designs, ratings, and proposals for heat transfer equipment, with a strong emphasis on air-cooled exchangers. Works closely with sales engineers and account managers to deliver accurate technical proposals and ensure customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare technical designs, cost estimates, and detailed proposals for heat transfer equipment, primarily air-cooled exchangers.
  • Perform equipment rating and costing using industry-standard software (e.g., HTRI, EDR).
  • Follow up with customers on proposals and quotes to support sales activities.
  • Obtain and validate vendor quotations for components and materials when needed.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure proposals meet technical and commercial requirements.
  • Utilize proprietary software and Microsoft Office Suite for proposal preparation and documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with customers to interpret specifications and provide solutions.
  • Manage multiple tasks and deadlines while maintaining quality and accuracy.

Qualifications:

  • Engineering degree with 1–3 years of heat transfer sizing experience; strong academic background considered for entry-level.
  • Alternatively, significant experience in heat transfer equipment sizing/rating without a degree may be considered.
  • Knowledge of heat transfer theory and principles required.

Technical Preferences:

  • Background in Oil & Gas and understanding of related industry standards.
