Job description

We are seeking a Sales & Application Engineer with either electrical component knowledge or inside sales experience. Engineering degree is not required. This is a fulfilling opportunity where the customer comes to you! Customers include utilities or industrial facilities that are looking to purchase electrical components like pad-mounted switchgear and transformers.

Position Responsibilities:

Your primary responsibility includes developing quality proposals to meet customer’s product needs and ultimately win the business by delivering strong customer support and meeting key timelines. Responsive customer service is essential as customer support may continue after product delivery. This position requires you to manage several customers on a given day so good time management and the ability to meet promised timelines are necessary skills. This position requires working effectively in a team environment as well as independently while managing your opportunity pipeline and related proposal activity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage customer opportunities and organize details within the company’s system and files.
  • Review and identify RFQ details
  • Meet due dates and key project milestones
  • Desire to learn new skills like interpreting electrical technical drawings.
  • Follow the established proposal process.
  • Manage all proposal build-up activities including team tasks/milestones/deadlines in order to capture scope and costs.
  • Work closely with internal team members and the customer on scope details and clarifications.
  • Submit an effective proposal to the customer that captures the RFQ scope and timeline.
  • Process and administer all customer purchase orders and changes throughout all phases of the order-delivery cycle.
  • Work effectively with Business Development with the goal of exchanging critical and current information and following up on tasks.
  • Support annual sales targets and marketing objectives for company, in order to meet the business goals.
  • Maintain effective knowledge of industry, company products and capabilities, competitor portfolio, and company differentiators.
  • Ensure that all communication with customers is in accordance with company standards, content and format.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Technical degree or inside sales experience preferred
  • Highly dynamic and responsive to internal and external customers
  • Self-directed and motivated to achieve results
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong active listening and communication skills.
  • Microsoft Office experience preferred
