Job summary

Gills Point S Tire & Auto in Santa Fe, NM is seeking a versatile team member for both Sales & Customer Service and Hands-On Automotive Service. You will welcome customers, assess needs, and present tire and maintenance recommendations while performing common service tasks in a fast-paced shop.

You should be comfortable communicating with customers, have a positive attitude, and be willing to continue learning in a team-oriented environment. Competitive pay and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience in automotive, tire retail or customer service preferred.
• Comfortable talking with customers and recommending products and services.
• Experience performing tire services, oil changes, and preventative maintenance is a plus.

What You'll Do

Sales & Customer Service

• Welcome customers and build lasting relationships through outstanding service.
• Listen to customer concerns and recommend tires, maintenance, and repair services based on their vehicle's needs.
• Educate customers on tire options, preventative maintenance, and manufacturer recommendations.
• Prepare estimates and confidently present service recommendations.
• Help customers make informed purchasing decisions while delivering an exceptional experience.
• Support store sales goals by identifying opportunities to add value through honest, solution-based recommendations.

Hands-On Automotive Service

• Mount, balance, rotate, repair, and replace passenger and light truck tires.
• Perform oil changes, fluid exchanges, and preventative maintenance services.
• Conduct vehicle inspections and identify tire, brake, suspension, steering, and other maintenance concerns.
• Replace filters, wiper blades, bulbs, batteries, and other routine service items.
• Assist with maintaining a clean, organized, and safe shop environment.

Teamwork & Operations

• Work closely with fellow technicians to ensure efficient workflow.
• Help maintain inventory and merchandise displays.
• Complete repair orders and accurately document services performed.
• Deliver the high-quality workmanship and customer service that Gills Point S is known for.

Requirements

What We're Looking For

• Automotive, tire, retail sales, or customer service experience preferred.
• Comfortable talking with customers and recommending products and services.
• Experience performing tire services, oil changes, and preventative maintenance.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to continue learning.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a team-first mentality.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, lifting up to 75 pounds, and safely operating shop equipment while working in a fast-paced environment. Candidates must be able to perform work both inside the shop and outdoors in varying weather conditions while following all company safety policies.
