Job description

About

Overview.ai is transforming manufacturing quality control with the OV20i, an advanced AI vision system that combines cutting-edge deep learning with ease of use and quick setup. Our system handles a wide array of inspection tasks—from subtle assembly verification to defect detection and orientation checks—delivering real-time, high-accuracy inspections that seamlessly integrate into existing production lines.

Trusted by leading manufacturers like Ford, Honda, Toyota, SpaceX, Milliken, and Flex-N-Gate, the OV20i enables faster throughput, reduced scrap, and lower inspection costs—without the complexity and expense of traditional vision systems.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for an exceptional Sales and Applications Engineer to join our growing team and help drive the future of industrial automation! If you have a background in engineering or technical sales, particularly in manufacturing, automation, or quality control systems, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the technical lead to customers, translating complex engineering solutions into clear, actionable information.
  • Collaborate with customers on the integration of vision systems, AI, and quality control solutions into production lines.
  • Provide both pre- and post-sales support, ensuring successful customer experiences and long-term partnerships.
  • Drive business growth by selling high-volume solutions (think 20+ cameras instead of just 1-2!).
  • Travel 60-80% of the time to meet clients, ensuring a high level of satisfaction and successful project implementation.
Who You Are
  • Background in Engineering or Technical Sales with a focus in Mechanical, Electrical, or Automation (preferred).
  • 3-7 years of experience in a Sales Engineer, Applications Engineer, or Technical Sales role within OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, or high-volume manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with vision systems, AI, and quality control solutions.
  • Highly adaptable, with a technical-first, sales-second approach.
  • Excellent at solving problems, troubleshooting, and presenting complex solutions to customers.
  • Comfortable working independently and traveling to customer sites across Detroit, MI; Columbus or Cincinnati, OH; Atlanta, GA; Charlotte, NC; Indianapolis, IN. Must live within ~1hr of these metros.
  • Motivated, self-driven, and ready to take on a challenge!
What We Offer
  • Competitive base salary of $75k–$120k.
  • Performance-based bonus with variable compensation ranging from $25k–$40k.
  • Medical Insurance to keep you covered.
  • Relocation package to help with your move to one of our key locations.
  • 401k benefits available.
  • All-expenses-paid trips to conventions, plus a comfy office located in San Francisco.
  • Remote work options available.
  • PTO – 3 weeks per year to recharge.
  • Opportunities for career growth in a rapidly evolving industry.
  • Supportive and dynamic work environment.
Location + Travel
  • Must be open to relocating to one of our key territories (Detroit, MI; Columbus, OH; Atlanta, GA; Charlotte, NC; Indianapolis, IN; Cincinnati, OH) or already residing there. Willing to consider those that live within ~1hr of these metros.
  • Frequent travel by car to meet clients within your territory.
