Job Summary Vanguard Personalized Indexing (VPI) builds individually customized, direct-indexing, separately managed account (SMA) portfolios for clients of Financial Advisors. Leveraging decades of indexing and trading expertise, VPI provides unrivaled, daily transparency into the tax management, performance, and ESG/religious values of each account, enabling advisors to improve the investment experience and outcome for the clients they serve. This role will be a key contributor to the sales strategy, enablement, competitive intelligence, reporting, and home office integration efforts of Vanguard Personalized Indexing (VPI). Primarily internally focused, this highly independent VPI expert will own several high-impact initiatives and partner closely with Specialty & Field Sales, Marketing, Relationship Management, Operations, and Finance teams.

Core Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary partner to VPI Marketing, helping set priorities and steer the VPI content pipeline based on business, marketplace, and sales needs.
• Play a leading role in home office implementations for VPI placements on large broker/dealer and bank SMA sponsor platforms, including managing partner relationships, coordinating internal workstreams, and shepherding investment due diligence, requests for information, and related approvals through completion.
• Own monthly and quarterly sales reporting, ensuring accurate, timely, and decision-useful insights for VPI and FAS Sales leadership.
• Develop competitive intelligence on direct indexing, personalized indexing, SMA providers, sponsor platforms, and evolving industry trends; translate findings into clear implications for VPI's distribution strategy.
• Create and maintain sales enablement resources, tools, and processes that equip FAS Sales teams to position VPI effectively across the RIA, Bank, and Broker/Dealer channels.
• Exhibit deep investment acumen and serve as an expert on direct and personalized indexing, helping VPI refine its approach and methodology to meet market and partner needs.
• Lead complex, cross-functional projects with a high degree of independence, accountability, attention to detail, and follow-through.
• Identify and implement opportunities to leverage artificial intelligence, automation, and data to solve problems, streamline recurring work, and improve the scalability of VPI's sales strategy and enablement capabilities.
• Support ad hoc analysis, investment due diligence, and strategic questions from internal stakeholders and prospective platform partners.
• Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of related work experience.
• High investment acumen, with the ability to understand and clearly communicate portfolio construction, tax management, indexing, and related investment concepts.
• Strong project management skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a proven ability to coordinate complex, cross-functional work from planning through execution.
• Demonstrated ability to operate independently, take full ownership of high-impact initiatives, and exercise sound judgment in ambiguous or evolving situations.
• Proven track record of using artificial intelligence, automation, or other technology-enabled approaches to solve problems, automate work, and improve processes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, practical recommendations for business partners and senior leaders.
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Graduate degree preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in direct indexing, personalized indexing, SMAs, investment management, distribution strategy, sales enablement, or financial-services platform integration.
• Experience in private wealth management, portfolio construction, investment product management, tax-aware investing, or tax management.
• Experience supporting sales strategy, sales enablement, distribution strategy, or investment-product distribution.
• Experience with bank, broker-dealer, registered investment adviser, or wealth-management distribution channels.
• Experience coordinating financial-services platform integrations, investment due diligence, requests for information, or approval processes.
