SALES ANALYST (remote role) - Life Science/Consulting services
SALES ANALYST is responsible for the creation of accurate and high-quality Statements of Work (SOWs) and Proposals, with sufficient detail to define the solution scope, Astrix and Client responsibilities and dependencies, critical assumptions, and work effort. This position plays a vital role in securing new business for the company as SOWs and proposals are essential in winning contracts and other similar opportunities.
SALES ANALYST has responsibility for, and leads the efforts to, validate the business and technical requirements, and gather pertinent information from both internal and external resources to facilitate the creation of budgetary estimates and SOWs. This work includes all SOWs and Services Agreements generated by Astrix for our clients. A SALES ANALYST plays a crucial role in helping organizations secure new business opportunities. With a combination of research and analysis skills, excellent writing and editing skills, strong collaboration skills, and the ability to manage deadlines and follow up effectively, a SALES ANALYST can help position their organization for success in today’s competitive market.
As a SALES ANALYST, your role encompasses a wide range of duties and responsibilities that are critical in helping an organization secure business opportunities.
The scope of SALES ANALYST responsibilities includes:
- Researching and gathering relevant information about the project.
- Writing and reviewing proposals for accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborating with the sales team to create a winning proposal strategy.
- Consulting with subject matter experts to obtain input for technical aspects of the proposal.
- Ensuring timely submission of proposals.
- Conducting post-proposal follow-up with clients and stakeholders.
- Drive for continuous professional development through Astrix-sponsored training and education as it relates to the areas of Astrix solutions, customer service, and industry trends.
- Create SOWs based on developed proposal or defined business requirements.
- Create and maintain a repository of templates and techniques to ensure the standardization of process for the efficient and accurate conveyance of required deliverables of this position.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
A. Research and analysis
- One of the most important duties of a SALES ANALYST is to conduct thorough research and analysis on the client, the market, and the competition. This involves gathering and analyzing data, statistics, and other relevant information to help understand the needs and preferences of the client, as well as the trends and best practices in the industry.
- Tracking and supporting Extension(renewal) business with sales teams
B. Proposal writing
- Once research is complete, then comes drafting and writing the proposal. This entails developing a clear and compelling narrative that addresses the client’s needs, outlining your organization’s capabilities and expertise, and providing a detailed plan of action.
C. Proposal editing and proofreading
- Ensure that the proposal is well-written, error-free, and free from any inconsistencies or contradictions. This means time is given to edit and proofread the proposal, checking for grammatical errors, typos, and formatting issues, and ensuring that the proposal is structured in a logical and coherent manner.
D. Collaboration with team members and external stakeholders
- Proposal writing is typically a collaborative effort, and as such, SALES ANALYST will work closely with colleagues and other external stakeholders to gather the necessary information and ensure that the proposal is aligned with the organization’s goals and objectives. This requires strong communication skills and the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships.

- Deadlines are a critical aspect of proposal writing, and SALES ANALYST is responsible for managing and meeting these deadlines to ensure that the proposal is submitted on time. This requires excellent time management skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.

D. Technical Skills and Knowledge of Proposal Software
- SALES ANALYST should possess knowledge of Microsoft and Salesforce. Leveraging software tools help streamline the proposal writing process, making it easier to collaborate with different teams and ensure proposal documents are organized and easily accessible.

Educational Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in a science related field and/or relevant 3-5 years work experience including proposal management, technical writing, or related field. Experience in laboratory informatics software, project management, sales, marketing, or business development is a plus.
