Job description
The Role

Amphenol Aerospace Operations is seeking a Sales Account Manager working out of a home office in North Carolina or South Carolina to join our outside sales team covering this territory. Primary responsibility is to identify new accounts and program opportunities as well as to leverage relationships with current customers to maintain and grow business in their territory.

The key responsibilities of this Sales Account Manager include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintain a 12-month forecast on significant programs and products
  • Report quarterly on parts designed in on customer programs
  • Visit customers as needed to support design, manufacturing, quality, and new opportunities
  • Travel to Amphenol factories when appropriate to engage the team on new designs and critical deliveries; sell the factories on why the program is vital to our success
  • Work with the customer and Amphenol colleagues on maintaining an acceptable level of performance on quality, delivery, and affordability
  • Create and maintain a program breakout with complete bill of material by product, business unit, and quantity per system and sales dollars potential
The Person

The key skills and qualities of aSales Account Manager at Amphenol Aerospace Operations:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or related field and 5 years' experience in engineering, sales support, sales or marketing in the aerospace industry required
  • Equivalent education/experience will be considered
  • Experience working with aerospace and defense customers is preferred
  • Interconnect knowledge and/or experience is a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and adept at both oral and written communications
  • Proficiency working with Microsoft Office software (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
  • Confidentiality
  • Ability to travel approximately 60-70% of the time
  • Employee must reside in North Carolina or South Carolina
