Job summary

Pace is seeking a field-facing Sales Representative to drive promotion and sales of Pace services, including instrument calibration, maintenance, and repair, within an assigned territory. The role emphasizes building relationships and retaining customers.

You will engage with customers, negotiate terms, and provide expert guidance on service features, backed by strong product knowledge and industry experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, chemistry, operations, or a closely related field with 3–5 years of customer support or sales experience.
  • Experience with complex programs or operations and customer-focused roles.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills; ability to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Increase market share through new business growth and wallet share with existing customers in the territory.
  • Visit customer sites to assess needs and promote Pace services.
  • Negotiate prices or terms of sales or service agreements; quote prices and terms.
  • Discuss how Pace services meet customer needs with clients and prospects.
  • Provide analyses and guidance to customers and management on sales policies and programs.
  • Develop recommendations on service features based on customer needs and capabilities.
  • Coordinate responses to customer feedback and required resources.
  • Analyze sales data and trends to present results and recommendations.
  • Ensure accuracy of sales and operational databases and reports; audit as needed.
  • Support development of project objectives, budgets, and timelines; present to management.
  • Interpret policies and regulations and apply them to daily work.
  • Contribute to department efficiency as an active team member.

Summary

Responsible for promoting and selling Pace® services (instrument calibration, preventative maintenance and repair for chromatography instrument) within an assigned territory, leveraging relationships and ensuring customer retention.

Compensation: $95,000.00 - 110,000.00 per year plus bonus

Essential Functions
  • Increases Market Share through new business growth and increases Wallet Share of existing customers in assigned territory.
  • Visits customer establishments to evaluate needs or to promote services as needed.
  • Negotiates prices or terms of sales or service agreements; quotes prices, credit terms or other bid specifications.
  • Contacts new or existing customer to discuss how specific services can meet their needs
  • Provides intermediate to complex analysis, interpretation and counsel to customers, staff, management, and functional leaders regarding sales policies, programs and practices.
  • Provides guidance and develops recommendations on service features based and analyses of customers' needs and on technical knowledge of capabilities and limitations to meet customer requirements.
  • Assists with receiving customer feedback and coordinating resources and responses as required.
  • Analyzes and reviews operations, results, feedback and related sales information on an ongoing to as needed basis to determine trends, draw conclusions, interpret findings, and presents results, proposals and recommendations to customers or management.
  • Ensures the accuracy of intermediate to complex sales and operational databases, reports, and related details through audits, queries, and operational reviews; works with teams to resolve discrepancies.
  • Assists with developing sales or cross-functional project or program objectives, which includes proposed budgets, timelines, materials, personnel, and other project requirements, receives direction and presents information to management; may develop and manage areas that are moderate in scope or impact.
  • Interprets and applies department policies and procedures and assists with applicable laws, rules, and regulations; receives guidance within these areas as needed.
  • Contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the department's service to its customers by offering suggestions and directing or participating as an active member of a work team.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in business, chemistry, operations, or a closely related field; AND 3-5 years of customer support experience, including experience with complex programs or operations; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Required Knowledge And Skills
  • Strong understanding of B2B communications and/or sales experience
  • Ability to build professional relationships with customers
  • Ability to travel overnight up to 30% as needed
  • Valid Drivers license
  • Strong understanding of MS Office products especially Excel
  • Salesforce experience, preferred
  • Chromatography experience, highly preferred
  • Service sales experience, highly preferred
