Job summary

Saint Alphonsus Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Cancer Institute Float Pool to support oncology clinics in Boise, Nampa, Caldwell and Ontario. The RN will provide professional nursing care, collaborate with the care team, and advocate for patients and families.

You will rotate through duties including assessment, planning, treatment, and documentation, with opportunities to work at multiple locations.

Qualifications

  • ACEN or CCNE-accredited nursing program degree.
  • Current RN license; multistate license residency within 60 days (Idaho).
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS) certification required at hire.
  • Experience in medical oncology or radiation oncology and/or clinic triage is a plus.
  • Team player with flexible scheduling.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional nursing care in collaboration with the health care team.
  • Assess, plan and treat patients and families; document nursing services.
  • Promote physical, spiritual and emotional well‑being; advocate for patients.
  • Work across multiple Cancer Care Clinic locations in Boise, Nampa, Caldwell and Ontario.

We are seeking to hire a Registered Nurse for our Saint Alphonsus Cancer Institute Float Pool (supporting our oncology clinics in Boise, Nampa, Caldwell and Ontario). In this role, you will provide professional nursing care in collaboration with members of a larger health care team in the ongoing assessment, planning and treatment of patients and families. You must utilize resources wisely while promoting physical, spiritual, and emotional well-being. This includes maintaining accurate and complete documentation of nursing services, and serving as a patient advocate.

In addition to providing hands‑on nursing care, you will work and serve in a broad range of capacities including, but not limited to, delegation, assessment, planning of care and treatment, teaching of the patient and the patient’s family. You will be expected to exercise competency in judgment, decision‑making, implementation of nursing intervention, delegation of function or responsibility, and administration of medications and treatments prescribed by legally authorized persons. The RN working in this role will have the opportunities to work at multiple Cancer Care Clinic Locations in Boise, Nampa, Caldwell, and Ontario.

Schedule: 4-10 hour shifts with rotating day off.

General Requirements:
  • Education: An associate or bachelor's degree from a nursing program accredited by ACEN or CCNE
  • License/Certification: A current RN license is required. Multistate licenses must establish residency with the Idaho Board of Nursing within 60 days from hire. All colleagues must provide licensure or proof of application in process for an Oregon RN license within 90 days of the hire date.
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire in all units, unless currently certified in ACLS and/or PALS.
  • Bonus: Experience with medical oncology, radiation oncology, and/or clinic triage 1+ years of registered nursing experience (inpatient or clinic settings)
  • Team player with flexible scheduling
