Job summary

Saint Annes Hospital in Fall River, MA is seeking a Medical Assistant/Secretary to support daily health care delivery, combining direct patient care with administrative duties.

The role requires at least a high school diploma, preferred CMA certification, and 1 year of hospital or clinic experience; bilingual candidates are strongly preferred. Working hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm, day shift.

SUMMARY:

The medical assistant/secretary position serves to assist in the daily health care delivery system in the medical office. The position covers a wide range of responsibilities that entail a combination of providing direct care and technical and administrative assistance to patients, nurses and physicians. On a daily basis, the incumbent will perform a variety of computer, clerical, scheduling and supply functions necessary for the operation of the medical practice with minimal supervision. EDUCATION:

High School Diploma required

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

Certified Medical Assistant preferred. AHA Basic Life required.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

Minimum of one year working in hospital / medical practice or equivalent experience preferred. Previous medical assistant experience and knowledge of medical practice operations preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, interpreting physician orders, and direct medical assisting. Bilingual candidates strongly preferred. Ability to perform clinical competency standards set forth by St. Anne’s Regional Medical Center including adherence to all policies and procedures of the organization. Previous experience with hospital and medical practice scheduling/information systems preferred. Basic computer literacy required.
