Luna Data Solutions is looking for a talented AWS Data Engineer with experience in Amazon SageMaker Unified Studio to join our project team.

• Predominantly remote work (from Texas), with a very small chance of travel to Houston
• Expected initial engagement of 3–6 months, with potential extension based on performance; client has a three-year roadmap
• W2 employment only

Summary:

In this contract role, you will design and build cloud-native data solutions, enable data engineering workflows, assist in migrating from Lambda functions to SageMaker data flows, and develop data quality and DataOps processes.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of hands-on experience designing and building data pipelines on AWS
• SQL proficiency required
• Strong Python skills, especially for data engineering and DataOps tasks
• Solid understanding of core AWS services: S3, Glue, Lambda, IAM, Step Functions, CloudWatch, Redshift
• Experience with containerized applications (Docker, ECR, ECS, or Kubernetes is a plus)
• Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, CDK, or CloudFormation)
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or within a small team
• Strong communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
• AWS Certifications are highly preferred
