Job summary

Position Summary

The Safety Training Coordinator is responsible for administering, coordinating, and maintaining Nibbi's safety training and certification programs. This role partners closely with the Safety and Health team to ensure employees receive required training, certifications remain current, and compliance documentation is accurately maintained. The Safety Training Coordinator manages employee training records, coordinates the logistics of training sessions, monitors certification requirements, and supports the continuous development of Nibbi's safety culture.

This position requires exceptional organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage large amounts of employee and training data. Occasional local travel to jobsites may be required.

This position reports to the Vice President of Safety and Health.

Essential Functions
  • Administer and maintain employee safety training records, certifications, and compliance documentation.
  • Coordinate company-wide safety training programs and certification renewals.
  • Monitor training requirements and develop training schedules to ensure compliance with company, regulatory, and customer requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, instructors, and external training providers.
  • Prepare and analyze training data, reports, and compliance metrics.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of the Nibbi team.

  • Assist Vice President of Safety and Health and Safety Team as needed.
Responsibilities
Safety Training Administration

Develop, implement, and maintain annual safety training plans based on:

  • Position-specific training requirements;
  • Employee certification and renewal deadlines;
  • OSHA and regulatory requirements;
  • Customer and project-specific requirements; and
  • New safety initiatives and programs.
Training Coordination

Coordinate all aspects of training sessions, including:

  • Registration and scheduling;
  • Coordinating training instructors, including union partners, industry associations, vendors, and other third-party providers;
  • Training facilities, equipment, materials, and refreshments;
  • Building and jobsite access requirements; and
  • Post-training documentation and recordkeeping.
  • Maintain training records and employee certification profiles.
  • Process and distribute certification cards and training documentation.
Compliance & Reporting
  • Monitor employee certifications and notify employees of upcoming renewals.
  • Maintain accurate OSHA, safety, and compliance records.
  • Generate and analyze training, certification, and compliance reports.
  • Track employee participation and completion of required training programs.
  • Support audits and requests for safety training documentation.
  • Monitor training progress and qualification requirements for field employee advancement programs, including Yellow Hard Hat progression and graduation.
  • Track active, inactive, and rehired employees to ensure continuity of training and certification records.
  • Identify opportunities for additional safety and skills-based training.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Research and source qualified instructors and training vendors.
  • Communicate available training opportunities to employees and supervisors.
  • Support special projects and initiatives as needed
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have prior experience coordinating training programs, managing compliance documentation or administering certification programs. Construction or Safety and Health industry experience preferred. Key competencies are initiative, communication, dependability and a passion to help others succeed.

Required Skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Experience working with HRIS, LMS, ADP, or other employee database systems preferred.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Ability to analyze, track, and maintain large amounts of employee and training information.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with field and office employees.
  • Commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and customer service.

The expected compensation range for this role is between $38 and $42 per hour, depending on experience.
