Qualifications

• Experience in safety training and safety orientation.
• Ability to communicate clearly and teach large groups.
• Familiarity with shipyard safety practices and Hazmat handling preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in various safety training sessions and safety orientation.
• Review information on upcoming jobs to ready site and prepare employees for safe work.
• Assist in preparation of written safety and environmental procedures for each project.
• Coordinate, schedule and conduct environmental, health and inspections, audits, and surveillances as directed by the Safety Officer.
• Maintain environmental, health and safety records and documentation.
• Hazmat knowledge preferred; coordinate collection and removal of all HAZMAT.
• Assist with bilge, tank, void, and cofferdam maintenance, pumping, cleaning and gas free certifications.
• Operate vacuum truck and related equipment; assist with cleanliness and pumping operations.
