Job summary

Ferroglobe seeks a Safety Technician in West Virginia to prevent workplace accidents and promote health and safety across the site. You will ensure employees follow safety laws and help create policies for a safer work environment.

You will lead safety initiatives, perform audits, investigations, training, and coordinate with operations to improve safety performance. Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in safety or industrial hygiene or related field.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA and government regulations applicable to this facility.
• Professional certification such as CSP or CIH.
• Experience in a union facility.
• OSHA 500 or 501 certification.

Responsibilities

• Participate in Joint Safety and Health program with local union and company leadership.
• Support a performance-driven culture aligned to Ferroglobe's Safety program.
• Provide technical guidance to operations managers regarding safety issues and OSHA compliance.
• Coordinate and support Safety Department goals and objectives.
• Coach and mentor line managers and supervisors in safety leadership responsibilities.
• Investigate and respond to safety and health issues, suggestions, and concerns.
• Participate in injury/incident investigations and lead root cause analysis.
• Participate in regulatory inspections as assigned.
• Develop or coordinate worker training as required.
• Perform safety audits and inspect facilities, machinery and safety equipment.
