EXCEL Group is a renowned industrial contractor with a commitment to excellence and a track record of delivering exceptional projects. We are seeking a Safety Technician to support ongoing maintenance operations at the SNF Flopam facility in Plaquemine, LA. This role is focused on day-to-day maintenance activities rather than turnaround or project-based work.

This is a local maintenance position and does not include per diem. Candidates should be local to the area or willing to work without per diem assistance.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for job site safety for workers through monitoring for hazardous atmosphere and ensuring proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Conduct daily field safety audits and job site inspections.
• Monitor compliance with OSHA standards and site-specific safety requirements.
• Assist with Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and pre-task planning.
• Lead or support incident investigations and documentation.
• Facilitate daily safety meetings and toolbox talks.
• Ensure proper use of PPE and safe work practices.
• Identify hazards and work with supervision to implement corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate safety records and reports.
• Must be able to work outside year around in all weather conditions, may include nights, weekends, holiday and overtime.
• Must be able to work at heights, climb stairs and ladders. Occasional Lifting of equipment up to 50 lbs.
• Provide on site training as needed which includes forklift and aerial lift training.
• Provide job site training as needed.
• Must be able to fill out paperwork correctly and accurately.
• Must have a safety mindset and work well with others.
• Flame Retardant Clothing will be provided.
