Job summary

Generac Power Systems Inc is seeking a Safety Tech to work with EHS leaders and cross‑functional teams at the Jefferson facility. You will handle shift-specific environmental, health and safety tasks to prevent accidents and promote safety awareness among staff.

The role requires knowledge of safety equipment and regulations, strong communication skills, and the ability to influence teams across functions in a fast-paced environment. OSHA and related regulatory knowledge is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 6 months of manufacturing experience preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, WDNR, DOT regulations and local rules.
• Good verbal and written communication, plus public speaking skills.

Responsibilities

• Engage in floor safety needs including incident response and safety coaching.
• Distribute PPE, perform ergonomic assessments and safety audits.
• Facilitate new hire orientation and maintain safety training documentation.
• Collect environmental compliance data (air monitoring, waste inspections).
• Post emergency procedures and update SDS files.
• Support emergency response and cross-functional safety tasks.

The Safety Tech is responsible for shift specific environmental, health and safety functions to prevent workplace accidents and promote health and safety awareness and education to fellow employees at the manufacturing site.Responsibilities:Engage in floor safety needs such as incident response, safety coaching (limited), PPE distribution, ergonomic assessments, safety audits, pre-pros for altered products and or new product.Facilitate new hire orientation.Collect environmental compliance data as directing including but not limited to air monitoring, filter performance readings, and hazardous waste inspections.Monitor and archive inspection supplies for all in-house powered industrial trucks (PITs).Be the primary contact for Environmental, Health and Safety issues and/or concerns on the production floor.Post new emergency procedures, update SDS files, archive incident reports, and training documentation.Assist in emergency response(s) and communication.Other duties as assigned.Requirements:High School Diploma or GED.6 months experience working in a manufacturing environment.Demonstrate and understanding of corporate environmental, health and safety policies. Proven knowledge of safety equipment and standards. Demonstrated ability to influence teams and individuals across multiple functions within the organization.Proven track record of successfully managing shifting deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment.Effective verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrate the ability to understand OSHA, EPA, WDNR, DOT and local regulations. Public speaking skills.Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 - 50 pounds.
