Job summary

The Safety Technician position at Travis Association for the Blind/Austin Lighthouse (TAB) supports the Safety Manager and facility managers to maintain a safe working environment across TAB facilities. The role aids with first response to medical situations and provides compassionate care to team members.

Key duties include investigating accidents, coordinating safety operations, and conducting trainings and inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or OSHA 10 & 30 certifications preferred.
• First Aid and CPR certifications are a plus.
• Forklift certification is a plus.
• Proficiency with MS Office and safety training development is expected.

Responsibilities

• Investigate accidents to identify causes and prevent recurrence.
• Assist with day-to-day safety and security operations.
• Schedule and conduct trainings and monthly safety meetings.
• Conduct monthly safety inspections of health and safety equipment.
• Remain on call during business hours and respond to on-site injuries.
