Job summary

Tyonek Native Corporation is seeking a Safety Technician I to assist the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager in planning and coordinating safety programs. Responsibilities include assessing hazards, enforcing PPE use, and maintaining records.

You will train staff in safety matters, CPR, and onboarding, while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role requires clear communication and the ability to work with teams in diverse settings.

Qualifications

• AS or certificate in EHS field required.
• Strong English written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of federal, state and local safety and environmental laws.
• Knowledge of customer service principles and evaluating satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Assess workplaces for environmental hazards and physical hazards.
• Issue, maintain and train personnel on PPE usage.
• Investigate mishaps and near misses.
• Maintain safety and environmental records and documentation.
• Train personnel annually in safety matters, CPR and indoctrination.
• Assist the EHS Manager as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
