The University of Houston System seeks an Environmental Health & Safety assistant to support safety trainings, verify certifications, and maintain safety records across campus buildings. The role involves coordinating biosafety cabinet certifications and testing facilities and equipment to ensure compliance.
Educational requirement is a High School Diploma or GED with at least one year of related experience; routine security checks apply.
Department: Environment Health &SafetySalary: $43,000-$48,900
Assists with various safety trainings. Verifies, tests and/orcoordinates certification of safety equipment in University ofHouston buildings. Maintains detailed records of all equipmenttesting, populate departmental database, assists with variousOccupational Safety assessments, and supports other EHSdiscipline-specific areas. Pursuant to the State of Texas ExecutiveOrder No. GA-48, this position researches, works on, or has accessto critical infrastructure and requires the ability to maintain thesecurity or integrity of the University infrastructure. Thisposition requires personnel be routinely reviewed to determinewhether or not criminal history or continuous connections for thegovernment or political apparatus of a foreign adversary mightprevent the employee from being able to maintain the security orintegrity of the infrastructure.

MQ: Requires a basic knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuationand simple mathematical functions like percentages, ratios, etc. asmight normally be acquired through attainment of a high schooldiploma or GED.
Requires a minimum of one (1) year of directly job-relatedexperience
