Job summary

Performance Contracting seeks a Safety Technician for the Madison 574 operations based in Sun Prairie, WI. You will promote safe work practices, assist with the Accident Prevention Plan, and represent PCI on site and at safety committee activities.

This safety-sensitive role requires OSHA 30, 2–3 years in construction safety, ability to lift 40 pounds, and strong verbal communication to coordinate with employees, vendors, and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of experience in construction safety.
• OSHA 30 certification is required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Strong verbal communication with employees and stakeholders.
• Able to lift 40 pounds independently.

Responsibilities

• Promote safe work practices to instill an injury-free culture among site personnel.
• Assist with the Accident Prevention Plan administration on jobsites and at the branch.
• Represent PCI and participate in Safety Committee activities.
• Identify, correct, and mitigate routine and non-routine safety hazards.
• Ensure safety reports and documentation are submitted on time.
• Coach employees to comply with safety plans and PPE.
• Identify, evaluate, and mitigate potential safety hazards.
• Conduct site inspections and audits to evaluate compliance.
• Investigate injuries and illnesses for the project site.

Performance Contracting is seeking aSafety Technician for its Madison 574 operations based in Sun Prairie, WI.

Job responsibilities include:

• Promote safe work practices and behaviors to instill an injury-free culture among all site and field personnel
• Assist with the administration of PCI's Accident Prevention Plan, policies, and procedures, on jobsites and at the branch through utilization of safety resources such as training and mitigation of unsafe practices.
• Represent PCI and participate in Safety Committee activities
• Assist in identifying, correcting, and mitigating routine and non-routine safety and health hazards
• Ensure company and client safety reports and documentation are submitted on time and in accordance with client requirements and expectations
• Coach employees to achieve compliance with accident prevention plans, policies, and procedures
• Identify, evaluate, and mitigate potential safety health hazards
• Conduct job site inspections and periodic audits to establish and evaluate the level of compliance
• Responsible for investigation and evaluation of injuries and illnesses for the project site
• Convey a professional and positive attitude as the safety representative of PCI
• Evaluate and approve safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE)

Pay range: $30-37per hour, depending on experience.

This position is safety-sensitive.

Basic Requirements

• Must have at least 2-3years' experience in construction safety
• Must have OSHA 30 certification
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Displays strong verbal communication skills with an ability to effectively convey information to employees, customers, vendors, and other stakeholders
• Able to withstand prolonged periods standing and working outside
• Physically able to perform assigned tasks
• Must be able to lift 40 pounds independently

Preferred Requirements

• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
• Degree in Occupational or Environmental Health and Safety is a plus
• Previous experience conducting safety training is a plus
• Local to Madison, WI metro area.
