Job summary

Bilfinger Industrial Services, Inc. in Mehoopany, PA is seeking a Safety Technician to join our industrial services team. The role focuses on promoting safe work practices, conducting training, and supporting field operations on site.

You will conduct safety orientations, inspections, and assist with incident investigations while helping managers review construction plans. Strong communication and familiarity with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint are required, along with OSHA 30 certification.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–3 years of safety experience in industrial construction or equivalent schooling.
• Experience with excavation, lifting/rigging, cranes, demolition, asbestos abatement, confined spaces, fall protection.
• OSHA 30 certification or equivalent safety training.
• Ability to walk, climb stairs and ladders in diverse environments as required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct orientations, educate, and train employees on safety, policies and regulations pertaining to safety training.
• Conduct unscheduled and scheduled inspections of work areas.
• Implement HS&E programs and risk management strategies, including behavior-based safety and compliance auditing.
• Provide coaching and support to construction field operations.
• Supervise and administer safety activities.
• Participate in incident investigations identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
• Review input on construction work plans with project managers.

Responsibilities

• · Implement innovative HS&E programs and strategies in the areas of behavior-based safety, auditing for compliance, safety management systems, process safety and risk management, high-impact training, and compliance support.

Requirements

• · Minimum of 1-3 years with safety experience in an industrial construction setting or equivalent schooling.
• · Experience in excavation, lifting and rigging, crane operations, demolition, lead and asbestos abatement, confined space, working at height, steel erection, scaffold and other construction processes
• · Experience with work permitting process (working at height, crane lifts, confined space, excavation, and lock out tag out)
• · Excellent written and verbal communication skills, time management, and organizational skills
• · Ability to speak in front of large crowds.
• · Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• · OSHA 30 certification or equivalent safety and health training
• · Requires the ability to walk extensively, climb stairs, and ladders or scaffolds throughout diverse work environments as required by business demands.
