Job summary

ES Foundry Corp is seeking a Safety Technician to support day-to-day safety activities at our Greenwood, SC manufacturing facility. You will assist with inspections, training, incident reporting, and regulatory compliance to promote a safe, compliant workplace.

Collaborating with production, engineering, HR, and EHS leadership, you will help identify hazards, maintain documentation, and drive corrective actions that reduce risk across operations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or technical training in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of safety, manufacturing, industrial, or related experience preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of OSHA General Industry standards and workplace safety practices preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the implementation and daily administration of plant safety programs, policies, and procedures in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulations.
  • Conduct routine safety inspections, workplace observations, and hazard assessments to identify unsafe conditions and support corrective actions.
  • Support incident and near-miss investigations by gathering information, documenting findings, and helping track corrective and preventive actions.
  • Maintain safety records, inspection reports, training documentation, and OSHA-related logs as directed by EHS leadership.
  • Assist with safety training activities, including new hire orientation, PPE requirements, hazard communication, LOTO awareness, and other site-specific topics.
  • Monitor proper use of personal protective equipment and reinforce safe work practices on the production floor.
  • Partner with production and maintenance teams to communicate safety concerns and help verify completion of corrective actions.
  • Support emergency preparedness activities, including drills, evacuation procedures, first-aid supplies, and emergency equipment inspections.
  • Participate in safety committee meetings and employee engagement initiatives to encourage reporting, awareness, and continuous improvement.
  • Assist with tracking safety metrics, audit findings, near misses, and corrective action status for review by plant leadership.

About the role:

The Safety Technician supports day-to-day safety activities within ES Foundry’s solar cell manufacturing facility by assisting with workplace inspections, employee safety training, incident reporting, and regulatory compliance efforts. This position helps identify hazards, promote safe work practices, maintain safety documentation, and support corrective actions that reduce risk across manufacturing operations. The role works closely with production, engineering, HR, and EHS leadership to strengthen a proactive safety culture and ensure employees have the tools, training, and support needed to work safely.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Minimum Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or technical training in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Technology, or a related field preferred.

  • Basic knowledge of OSHA General Industry standards and workplace safety practices preferred.
Desired Skills:
  • OSHA 10-Hour or OSHA 30-Hour certification preferred.
  • Experience in manufacturing, solar, semiconductor, electronics, or other industrial environments preferred.
  • Familiarity with hazard communication, PPE, lockout/tagout, machine guarding, ergonomics, and chemical safety practices.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records, reports, inspection checklists, and training documentation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and basic incident or safety tracking systems.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Korean communication skills a plus.

  • May require availability for emergency response outside of normal business hours.
  • Required to wear appropriate PPE based on area-specific hazards.
