Job summary

Safety Partners is seeking a part-time Safety Technician to provide hands-on EHS support to life science and high-tech clients in Cambridge, MA. You will work with a Consulting Safety Officer (CSO) to implement and maintain client programs.

The ideal candidate has biology/chemistry training, familiarity with hazardous waste disposal and regulatory concepts, strong written and verbal communication, and the ability to drive to client sites.

Qualifications

• Relevant training in biology, chemistry, or life science focused disciplines.
• Experience within life science or biotechnology industries preferred.
• Knowledge of hazardous waste disposal practices and/or regulations preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA, DEP, EPA, RCRA, DOT, DH, MWRA, NIH, or NFPA preferred.

• Hands-on client support to maintain and facilitate site specific EHS programs, working with a CSO.
• Coordination of all hazardous waste segregation, collection, and disposal.
• Physically moving full hazardous chemical waste containers to main accumulation area.
• Consolidation of biological waste for removal.

As a Safety Technician, you will have the opportunity to provide technical Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) support for our growing list of life science and high-tech clients. In this part-time role, you will work in conjunction with a Consulting Safety Officer (CSO) providing hands-on client support to implement, facilitate and maintain client specific EHS programs.

Job Responsibilities

• Knowledge of hazardous waste disposal practices and/or HAZWOPER regulations preferred.
• Some knowledge of OSHA, DEP, EPA, RCRA, DOT, DPH, MWRA, NIH, or NFPA preferred.

• Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to drive into Cambridge/Boston, MA.

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
