Worth & Company, a leading mechanical contractor in the Mid-Atlantic, seeks a Safety Technician based in Baltimore, MD. The role supports and promotes a culture of safety across Maryland operations, developing and monitoring safety programs while ensuring compliance with federal, state, local, and company requirements.

Responsibilities include conducting inspections, promoting safe work practices, and providing safety training.

Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of experience in construction safety or related field.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification required.
  • Familiarity with construction industry concepts, practices, procedures, and regulations.
  • Knowledge of accident prevention principles, safety management, and safety education.
  • Ability to identify hazards, assess risk, and recommend practical solutions.
  • Background checks (FBI and State Police) required.
  • Valid driver's license preferred.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Additional safety certifications are a plus.

Worth & Company is seeking a Safety Technician to support and promote a culture of safety across our Maryland operations. This position is based out of our Baltimore, MD office and requires regular travel to jobsites throughout the state of Maryland. The Safety Technician will assist with the development, implementation, and monitoring of company safety programs while ensuring compliance with federal, state, local, and company safety requirements.

Safety Technician Responsibilities
  • Evaluate company procedures, facilities, equipment, and jobsites to identify unsafe conditions and potential hazards.
  • Develop, implement, monitor, and manage the company’s Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) program.
  • Conduct routine jobsite inspections and audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company safety policies.
  • Ensure each project conforms to all applicable safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Identify and evaluate detrimental or hazardous working conditions and recommend corrective actions.
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend safety equipment and protective devices.
  • Assist in incident and accident investigations, including documentation and follow-up actions.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees regarding safety and health concerns.
  • Deliver safety education, training, and awareness initiatives as needed.
  • Maintain safety records, reports, and documentation.
  • Travel throughout Maryland to conduct jobsite visits and safety evaluations.
  • Collaborate with project management, field personnel, and subcontractors to promote safe work practices.
