The Safety Technician at APIC Solutions provides hands‑on safety support, field auditing, and regulatory compliance enforcement across all division project sites within an assigned geographic territory. Rather than staying at a single fixed location, this role requires travel to actively monitor multiple field crews, conduct safety inspections, and ensure uniform compliance with OSHA standards and company safety policies. The technician serves as the frontline safety resource for field personnel across all APIC Solutions' projects.

Key Responsibilities
Field Audits & Compliance
  • Conduct regional site inspections to identify, document, and correct safety hazards across assigned job sites
  • Perform field checks on Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO), fall protection, and Job Safety Analysis cards across various crews
  • Verify that regional fleet vehicles, ladders, specialized tools, and PPE are properly maintained and compliant
  • Assist regional project managers and foremen in maintaining required safety documentation and signage on their specific sites
Training & Field Incident Support
  • Conduct specialized training sessions for regional crews
  • Travel to incident scenes within the region to gather facts, take photos, interview witnesses, and document near‑misses or accidents
  • Provide immediate, constructive feedback to field technicians to enforce a proactive safety culture
Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date records of field audits, hazard corrections, and site conditions across current projects
  • Monitor and report on the safety certification status (OSHA cards, first aid) of field personnel within the company
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of construction or occupational safety experience
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Ability to travel 60–70% of the time across designated job sites
Preferred Qualifications
  • CPR/First Aid instructor certification
  • Experience in electrical/low‑voltage construction industry
  • Solid working knowledge of OSHA Construction standards (29 CFR 1926) and basic electrical hazard awareness
  • Experience traveling between multiple job sites and coordinating field visits across large regions
  • NFPA 70E Certification
  • Territory Management: Excellent time‑management and routing skills to efficiently schedule and execute site visits across a large region
  • Communication: Ability to communicate safety rules firmly yet tactfully to field crews and project supervisors
  • Field Adaptability: Comfort working in active construction environments, climbing ladders, walking long distances on uneven terrain, and working in varied weather conditions
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to quickly learn new safety management systems
Physical Demands & Work Environment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at heights
  • Comfortable working in active construction environments in all weather conditions
