Job summary

Shirley Parsons is seeking a Safety Team Lead in Reno, NV to push forward the safety program at the job-site level and ensure a leading safety culture across the project. This is a permanent, non-exempt role eligible for overtime with relocation assistance for non-local candidates.

You will oversee active projects, conduct site inspections and investigations, and partner with the Safety Director to report metrics to senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years proven experience managing safety on major construction projects.
• CHST or BCSP certification required.
• Strong communicator with internal and external stakeholders.
• Based near Reno, NV and able to travel to job-site daily.

Responsibilities

• Oversee active projects while managing multiple direct reports.
• Conduct job-site inspections, accident investigations and audits with corrective actions.
• Highlight safety metrics/trends to senior leadership in collaboration with the Safety Director.
• Conduct new hire orientation and OSHA-compliant training programs.
• Engage with operations leadership, GC and client as the safety technical expert.

This is a non-exempt position and eligible for overtime pay.

• $55 - $62 per hour + overtime
• 60 hours per week expected

A leading MEP contractor is looking to appoint a Safety Team Lead in Reno, NV. You will be responsible for pushing forward the safety program at a job-site level to ensure a leading safety culture across the project. The Role:

• Oversee active projects while managing multiple direct reports.
• Undertake job site inspections, accident investigations and audits as deemed necessary - putting forward corrective actions to continually develop the safety program and culture
• Work in partnership with the Safety Director in highlighting key safety metrics/trends on the jobsite, which will be reported back to senior leadership
• Conduct new hire-orientation and implement training programs in compliance with all OSHA requirements
• Engage with all operational leadership, job-site teams, GC and the client in regards to safety related matters - acting as the technical expert for any issues that may arise

The Candidate:

• A minimum of 5 years proven experience managing safety on major construction projects. Mechanical experience desired
• CHST or similar BCSP certification (required)
• A strong communicator who can engage with both key internal and external stakeholders
• Based near Reno, NV and happy to travel to the job-site daily
