Job summary

Penske Logistics LLC in San Antonio, TX seeks a Safety Team Lead (Warehouse) who is bilingual to coach and mentor site management toward an incident- and injury-free operation while maintaining full regulatory compliance.

You will lead development and implementation of location safety strategies, oversee training, conduct inspections, manage Gensuite audits, and report trends to leadership to drive continuous safety improvements.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of Health & Safety or Operations Management experience with proven leadership ability.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
  • Ideal candidate is bilingual (English/Spanish).
  • Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, and at the specified location.
  • Complete Penske employment application and submit to background investigation and drug screening.

Job description

Safety Team Lead (Warehouse) - Bilingual
Location: San Antonio, TX.
Shift: 7am- 3:30 pm.
Position Summary:

Coach and mentor Location Management to achieve an incident/injury free work environment while maintaining full compliance with all applicable regulatory agencies.

Major Responsibilities:

Lead the development and implementation of location strategies that are aligned with the region strategy. Monitor effectiveness and oversee corrective/improvement efforts.

(50% time allocation)

  • Approximately 90% of efforts are spent on activities that will lead to the prevention of accidents
  • Approximately 10% of efforts are spent on activities that will lead to 100% compliance with applicable regulations
  • Develop and mobilize an effective safety team comprised of exempt and non-exempt associates
  • Conduct regular inspections, process evaluations, and observations to validate strategy effectiveness
  • Provide location leadership with evaluation/inspection results along with recommendations for solutions via Gensuite Audit Tracking System
  • Track findings to completion and involve local leadership when progress towards completion stalls or falls behind schedule

Provide effective training, updates, and tools, which support H&S and Operations and are necessary to meet objectives.

(30% time allocation)

  • Approximately 60% of training efforts are spent on local supervisors/leadership
  • Approximately 40% of training efforts are spent on “specialized” training for associates where H&S expertise is required
  • Track or assure that all training is documented
  • Assure that all training is effective

Monitor and analyze key compliance metrics. Identify and oversee corrective and improvement efforts.

(10% time allocation)

  • Gensuite owner at a local level.
  • Enter an update injury & accident data
  • Enter or assure the entry of Audit Findings in the Audit Tracking System
  • Keep local management apprized of trends and provide recommendations that will direct trends in a favorable direction

Provide communication to and from Operations Leadership teams regarding performance and status, and make recommendations for improvement.

(10% time allocation)

  • Serve as local contact with Risk Management
  • Track and manage the return to work process
  • Perform site observations and provide feedback to associates, supervisors, and management
Job Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of Health & Safety or Operations Management experience with proven leadership ability required
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Ideal Candidate is Bilingual (English / Spanish)
  • Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required
