Job summary

WeDriveU, based in Boston, MA, seeks a Safety Supervisor for Transportation (Non CDL). Compensation is $31.02/hour with a full-time permanent schedule.

The role supports field operations, ensuring safe, efficient service across shifts, including evenings and weekends. Responsibilities include coaching drivers, handling incidents, improving on-time performance, and coordinating with internal and third-party teams.

Qualifications

• Must have open availability — flexible schedule.
• Preferred: Commercial Driver's License with Passenger Endorsement.
• 5+ years of experience in Operations Management with 3 years in transit industry preferred; college education can be substituted for up to 2 years required work experience.
• Experience in public or private alternative transportation demand management (TDM).
• Knowledge of DMV policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Ensures operator activities comply with safety requirements and training processes.
• Responds to accidents/incidents; travels to locations as needed; completes documentation; coordinates with insurers.
• Provides coaching and guidance to operators to improve safety and customer service.
• Monitors on-time performance and prepares required reports.
• Supervises policy compliance and discusses breaches with Safety and Operations teams.
• Evaluates performance of driver personnel according to company policy.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Description:

The Safety Supervisor will report to the Assist Safety Managers/Safety Manager and is responsible for actively facilitating communications between the field operations team to ensure the service is running efficiently.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensures that operator activities are in compliance with company requirements for safe operations including compliance with corporate safety training processes and practices.
• Responds to vehicle accidents and incidents, including travel to and from accident locations as operationally required; provides on-scene and post-incident support to operators; completes required accident and incident documentation; and coordinates notification and communication with internal departments and third-party insurance vendors when needed, in accordance with Company and FTA requirements.
• Provides support, advice and guidance to operators in responding to a variety of issues (e.g. customer complaints/incidents, and/or worker safety, location issues, accidents), assessing situations and determining appropriate course of action (e.g. additional training, counseling) to prevent further occurrences in the future
• Ensures a positive work environment for operators by providing coaching, mentoring and non-safety related training to promote high employee motivation and morale and commitment to company values and excellence in customer service
• Monitors on-time performance
• Prepares and submits required reports in a timely manner, to applicable vendors, agencies and teams
• Supervises compliance with Company policies and/or processes by action and speech; discusses any breach of policy and procedure noted with Safety and Operations teams
• Evaluates the performance of all driver personnel on a regular basis according to company policy
• Other duties as assigned

Skills Required and Physical Demands:

• Ability to multitask and pay extreme attention to detail.
• Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize and problem solve.
• Knowledge of Google applications with intermediate to advanced Sheet skills.
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds, climb stairs, and be on your feet for an extended period.
