Job summary

Primoris Heavy Civil is seeking a Safety Supervisor to oversee and implement safety programs on Louisiana projects, ensuring a compliant, safe work environment for all personnel.

You will conduct site inspections, develop and enforce site-specific safety plans, lead incident investigations, deliver training, maintain records, and promote a culture of safety with project teams and regulators.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a safety role within heavy civil construction.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification required; CHST or CSP preferred.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, industry safety standards, and best practices.
• Proven ability to conduct effective safety inspections, audits, and incident investigations.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide safety training and orientation to new and existing employees, including hazard recognition, personal protective equipment (PPE) use, and emergency procedures.
• Maintain accurate safety records, including inspection reports, training logs, incident reports, and corrective action documentation.
• Communicate effectively with project management, employees, and regulatory agencies regarding safety matters.
• Promote a strong safety culture through regular communication, positive reinforcement, and active engagement with the workforce.
• Assist in the development and implementation of emergency response plans and conduct drills.
• Ensure proper handling and storage of hazardous materials.
• Stay up-to-date on industry safety best practices and regulatory changes.

Job Qualifications

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various job sites within Louisiana.
