Primoris Heavy Civil seeks a Safety Supervisor to oversee safety programs on Louisiana projects, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies. You will lead inspections, training, incident investigations, and documentation to maintain a safe work environment.

The role requires 3–5 years in safety within heavy civil construction, OSHA 30-hour certification, and strong communication skills. Occasional travel to Louisiana sites is expected.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years safety experience in heavy civil construction.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification required.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards.
• Valid driver’s license; ability to travel within Louisiana.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular safety inspections/audits of work sites per OSHA and company policies.
• Develop and enforce site-specific safety plans with project management.
• Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Provide safety training and orientation on PPE, hazard recognition, and procedures.
• Maintain accurate safety records including inspections, trainings, incidents, and actions.
• Communicate safety matters with project management, staff, and regulators.
• Promote a strong safety culture through proactive engagement with the workforce.
• Assist in emergency response plan development and drills.
• Ensure safe handling/storage of hazardous materials.
• Stay updated on industry safety practices and regulatory changes.

Job Overview:

Job Summary

The Safety Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing and implementing safety programs and policies for Primoris Heavy Civil projects in Louisiana, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees and compliance with all relevant regulations.

Job Responsibilities

• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of work sites to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
• Develop, implement, and enforce site-specific safety plans and procedures in collaboration with project management.
• Lead and participate in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and the development of corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Provide safety training and orientation to new and existing employees, including hazard recognition, personal protective equipment (PPE) use, and emergency procedures.
• Maintain accurate safety records, including inspection reports, training logs, incident reports, and corrective action documentation.
• Communicate effectively with project management, employees, and regulatory agencies regarding safety matters.
• Promote a strong safety culture through regular communication, positive reinforcement, and active engagement with the workforce.
• Assist in the development and implementation of emergency response plans and conduct drills.
• Ensure proper handling and storage of hazardous materials.
• Stay up-to-date on industry safety best practices and regulatory changes.

Job Qualifications

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a safety role within heavy civil construction.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification required; CHST or CSP preferred.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, industry safety standards, and best practices.
• Proven ability to conduct effective safety inspections, audits, and incident investigations.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced construction environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to various job sites within Louisiana.
