Homes for the Homeless is seeking a Safety Supervisor for our Families with Children facility in Hell's Kitchen, Manhattan, NY. The role involves supervising safety staff, maintaining surveillance, enforcing rules, and coordinating fire safety operations to ensure a secure environment for families.

Applicants should have a High school diploma or equivalent, NYS Security License, and applicable 8/16/ Certificates of Fitness. Weekend/holiday work is required; competitive benefits are offered.

SAFETY SUPERVISOR

We are excited to invite a dedicated and experienced Safety Supervisor to join our team! Homes for the Homeless (HFH) is searching for an experienced Safety Supervisor for our Families with Children facility located in the Hell's Kitchen area of Manhattan, NY. As the Safety Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in our organization, providing a safe and secure environment for the families in our facility and supervising our dedicated Safety Aides. ABOUT HOMES FOR THE HOMELESS:

Homes for the Homeless operates shelters for families experiencing homelessness in NYC. Our family residences are more than just a place to sleep. Families can make the most of their stay through accessing an array of onsite programs. Many of these programs are also available to people living in the local community. Our goal is to have a positive impact so families can thrive long after they leave our shelters.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Supervise safety staff providing direction and instruction to staff on routine security tasks for assigned shift.
• Maintain camera surveillance of the interior and exterior of the facility.
• Enforce facility rules and regulations.
• Investigate incidents or interactions.
• Act as the Fire Safety Director and staffs the Fire Command Station.
• Must be able to work on weekends and Holidays.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid NYS Security License.
• Current 8-hour certificate.
• 16-hour certificate.
• Valid F-02 (Certificate of Fitness for Fire Guard for Shelters).
• Valid F-80 (Certificate of Fitness for Coordinator of Fire Safety and Alarm Systems in Homeless Shelters).
• Welcomed - T89 (Certificate of Fitness for Fire Life and Safety Director).
• Security or law enforcement experience with one-year supervisory experience preferred.
