RecruitPod Global LLC is seeking a Safety Supervisor to support the Corporate Safety Director and Mechanical Construction Team in maintaining safe, compliant, and productive construction sites in the Chicagoland area. This mid-level, field-based role focuses on daily site safety activities, inspections, documentation, training, and compliance.

The position is based in Westmont, IL, with regular visits to project sites and potential travel to other locations.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of construction, safety, or related field experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA Construction Standards (29 CFR 1926) preferred.
  • Willing to obtain/update safety certifications upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Safety Director with implementing site-specific safety programs and procedures.
  • Conduct daily field safety observations and document findings.
  • Monitor compliance with OSHA, company, client, and project safety requirements.
  • Assist with Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Critical Control Cards (CCCs), and pre-task planning.
  • Participate in new-hire orientations and site-specific safety onboarding.
  • Coordinate and track required safety training and certifications.
  • Maintain safety documentation, permits, inspection logs, reports, and related records.
  • Participate in incident response, investigations, and follow-up documentation.
  • Support project start-up meetings and communicate safety expectations to field personnel.
  • Monitor housekeeping, PPE usage, and overall site conditions.
  • Maintain safety boards, signage, and other safety communication materials.
  • Work professionally with subcontractors, project teams, and client safety representatives.
  • Provide safety guidance and mentoring to craft employees under the direction of Safety Leadership.
  • Support project safety meetings and other safety initiatives.
  • Perform additional safety-related duties as assigned.

Job Summary Seeking a Safety Supervisor to support the Corporate Safety Director and Mechanical Construction Team in maintaining safe, compliant, and productive construction sites.   • Experience or strong interest in construction safety, preferably in mechanical or mission-critical construction.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Comfortable using tablets, mobile devices, and construction/safety field technology.
  • Ability to work both in an office environment and on active construction sites.
  • Willingness to travel based on project requirements.
  • Ability to work 10-12 hour shifts and occasional weekends when required.
  • Must be punctual, dependable, and able to follow company scheduling requirements.
  • Ability to communicate scheduling conflicts or absences promptly.
  • Candidates with, or able to obtain, recognized safety credentials such as GSP, ASP, CHST, or OHST are preferred.

  • They should have strong knowledge of construction safety practices, OSHA requirements, JHAs, pre-task planning, PPE, inspections, and safety documentation.
  • The candidate should be comfortable spending significant time on active construction sites, communicating with subcontractors, and addressing safety issues professionally.
  • Someone who is field-oriented, dependable, detail-focused, willing to travel, and comfortable with 10-12 hour shifts when required and occasional weekends will be well suited for this position.
