Location: St. Louis District Office - 1590 Woodlake Drive, Chesterfield, MO 63017.

Position Overview

The senior safety specialist provides professional support and assists in defining safety program directions. Responsibilities are performed under general supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Coordinate the department's safety and occupational health programs.
  2. Identify and assess risks, exposures, and hazards; develop control strategies.
  3. Evaluate and improve hazard controls and safety programs.
  4. Conduct safety training, ergonomic assessments, and industrial hygiene testing.
  5. Investigate workplace incidents and assess security risks.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety, or related field.
  • Four years of experience in industrial hygiene or occupational safety.
  • Must obtain OSHA construction outreach trainer authorization within six months of start date.
Working Conditions
  • Frequent district-wide and occasional statewide travel.
  • Exposure to physical hazards and environmental risks.
  • Operation of vehicles for snow plowing and ice control.
