Red Cedar Solutions seeks a Safety Specialist for the Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX. You will join the JSHIFT team providing safety and fire protection support, performing hazard analysis and reporting, and ensuring compliance across projects.

The role requires 2+ years in safety roles, strong OSHA/NFPA knowledge, and excellent communication. Office software proficiency is essential for documentation and coordination. This full-time position offers growth and mission-driven work at JSC.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years occupational safety & health experience in institutional/industrial environments.
• Proficient in OSHA & NFPA standards and risk management techniques.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with internal/external customers and regulators.
• Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook).
• Must work under pressure, meet deadlines, and provide exemplary customer service.
• Associate’s degree or higher in OSH or STEM is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide occupational safety and fire protection support as part of the Joint Safety Health Institutional Facilities Team (JSHIFT).
• Perform hazard recognition, evaluation and control activities at Johnson Space Center (JSC).
• Conduct routine facility inspections and reporting.
• Conduct routine construction site inspections and reporting.
• Support mishap and near-miss investigations and follow-ups.
• Develop and review facility and job hazard analyses.
• Develop Center safety/health communications and educational materials.
• Audit contractor OSHA programs and support VPP activities and initiatives.
