Job summary

Liberty Tire Recycling in Baytown, TX is seeking a Health & Safety Specialist to develop and implement safety programs, conduct audits, deliver training, and maintain regulatory compliance on site. The role requires hands-on involvement and lifting up to 50 lbs.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in safety-related fields and 2–4 years of experience, with strong collaboration and communication skills. English/Spanish bilinguality is a plus. This is a regular full-time position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in safety science, environmental health, industrial hygiene, or related field.
• 2–4 years of relevant safety or manufacturing experience.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Willingness to work near moving mechanical parts and in loud environments.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with all levels of the site team.
• Provide safety and health support to site leadership.
• Develop and maintain written safety procedures and policies.
• Identify training needs and coordinate safety training programs.
• Lead incident investigations and support corrective actions.
• Maintain OSHA 300 Log and ensure accurate reporting.
• Collaborate with corporate safety staff to implement initiatives.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
