Job summary

Southland Search Group in Santa Monica, CA is seeking a Safety Specialist/Manager to support and lead site safety programs across active construction projects. You will work with Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen and crews to ensure work is executed safely and in line with company standards.

The role may own site safety leadership or provide field-level safety support, with a focus on early risk identification and building a strong jobsite safety culture; OSHA regulations and incident

Qualifications

• OSHA 30 certification required.
• OSHA 500/510 certification strongly preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years safety experience for Safety Specialist; 5+ years safety experience with leadership preferred.
• Experience with Job Hazard Analyses, risk assessments and incident investigations.

Responsibilities

• Lead site safety programs and field compliance across active construction projects.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen and crews to ensure safe work.
• Ensure work aligns with company standards, client requirements and regulatory expectations.

Position Summary:

The Safety Specialist/Manager supports and helps lead site safety programs and field compliance efforts across active construction projects, working closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen, and crews to ensure work is executed safely and in line with company standards, client requirements, and regulatory expectations. Depending on experience, this role may take ownership of site safety leadership or provide dedicated field-level safety support, with a shared focus on identifying risk early and building a strong jobsite safety culture.

Qualifications:

• Safety Specialist: 2+ years safety experience, preferably in construction
• Safety Manager: 5+ years safety experience, with prior leadership of site safety programs preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety or related field preferred, or equivalent experience
• Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards
• Hands-on experience with Job Hazard Analyses, risk assessments, and incident investigations
• OSHA 30 certification required
• OSHA 500/510 certification strongly preferred
